Sedgefield Town Council
SEDGEFIELD RESIDENTS' FORUM

The Forum was established in February 2004 with the overall aim of being 'a voice' for the community and to provide residents with an appropriate forum which would allow them :-

To campaign for something (e.g. improved services, play facilities etc.)
To campaign against something (e.g. the closure of local facilities, the effect of new housing law, planning issues etc.)
To give greater voice than you would have as an individual, when talking to the council or other authorities about things you would like to see changed
To increase the sense of belonging in a community, to meet and help other people.
To keep people in the area informed of all the issues that affect them.
To get involved with what other groups may be doing.
To have a representative voice on other groups/committees.

The Forum meets on the first Monday of each month at 7.00pm in the Fletcher Room of the Parish Hall all residents are welcome and the meetings give information updates and the opportunity to raise any issues which affect residents.

NB there may be some months when there is no meeting e.g. holiday periods please check the village notice board for details

The Forum also links into the Sedgefield Residents Federation (residents groups from the old Sedgefield Borough area) and the Countywide Residents Association.

Minutes of meetings are available in the Library and Town Council office; there is also an email facility for residents to be kept up to date. Anyone can register for this by contacting jane@sedgefield.net or enquiring at the Town council office.
