One of the most important tasks which Sedgefield Together has undertaken is the revision of the Town Plan. A presentation which outlines the plan can be viewed here.
Background
With the demise of Sedgefield Borough Council as part of the local government re-organization in this area and the subsequent creation of the new unitary authority based on the existing County Durham area it was apparent that there would be a large divide between the local services provided at the town/parish level and the strategic county. It was with this in mind that the Town Council have looked to establish a new group/partnership which brings together the very local groups and statutory bodies to discuss and hopefully solve issues of mutual interest.
This new Group is the Sedgefield Together Partnership
In order to establish the overall partnership a Steering group was established made up of representatives from local groups including businesses, community organisations, statutory authorities etc.

a) To formulate a community strategy for Sedgefield
b) To enable the Group to gain the views of the wider community
